Fortafix High Temperature Resisting Aerosol Paint - SP650 Black

 

Heat resistant coating based on silicone resins - Aerosol Pack. Complies with Environmental Protection Act Part 1 1990 - VOC Values. Product is suitable for use on Gas and Electric Fires, Barbecues, Wood-burning Stoves etc, up to specified temperature. Product contains free silicone and precautions should be taken to isolate the product from other paint systems.

Principal Characteristics

Provides a long lasting decorative finish for iron and steel. Easy to use aerosol canister. One coat spray application. Heat resistant up to 650°C for atmospheric exposure. Good adhesion on well prepared metal substrates. Good opacity.

Application

  • If this product is to be used on Zintech (limited temperature resistance) or Aludip (organo-chrome surface treatment) coated steel - Please contact our technical department for advice.
  • Iron and steel should then be abrasive blast cleaned to a standard of SA2½ (ISO 8501-1:1988) and a surface profile of 25 to 50 microns.
  • Non-ferrous metals should be lightly sweep blasted to produce a surface profile of 25 - 50 microns.
  • All surfaces should be first treated to remove any oil or grease and should be cleaned free of all dust and debris and the coating applied as soon as possible and certainly before any visible signs of re-oxidation occur.
  • Substrate temperature should be at least 3°C above dew point

    Caution: Pressurised container, protect from sunlight and do not expose container to temperatures exceeding 50°C. Do not pierce or burn even after use. Do not spray on a naked flame or any incandescent material. See separate safety sheet. Ensure adequate ventilation during use. Keep all products away from children. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Remove splashes form skin immediately with water or proprietary hand cleaner. If accidentally swallowed, do not induce vomiting, give water or preferably milk and seek medical attention.
